Meditations is a series of abstract color photographs created entirely in the darkroom. By manipulating light and experimenting with unconventional tools, the work explores photography as a tactile, plastic medium, closer to painting or drawing than representation. Produced in complete darkness, the process itself reveals each image, engaging fully with light and material.
In an era dominated by hyper-digital images promising perfection and control, the darkroom becomes a sanctuary of slowness and introspection. Following Paul Virilio’s idea that technological acceleration diminishes our grasp of the present, these images emphasize fragility, impermanence, and the process itself. They invite a sensory encounter with color, texture, and form, opening a space for contemplation and reflection beyond conventional representation.
