Metamorphosis (2026)
Exhibition view, AUSSTELLUNG I, Neue Bäckerei
Wiesbaden, Germany.
Metamorphosis is a photographic installation conceived in response to an invitation to participate in the inaugural exhibition at Neue Bäckerei in Wiesbaden, Germany. Presented in a space still undergoing renovation, the installation brings together five works that explore transformation not as a single, visible event, but as a passage
experienced from within, where beginnings and endings remain uncertain.
The sequence opens with First Bath of the Year (2023), in which a figure stands at the edge of cold water, suspended between hesitation and resolve. The gesture of entering becomes a threshold into the unknown.
At the centre, three cameraless luminograms, Thread I, Thread II and Thread III, trace lines through fields of colour. Drawing on the labyrinth and the myth of Ariadne, they evoke a path encountered one turn at a time, with no view of the whole. The thread becomes not a means of finding a way out, but a trace of the passage through uncertainty.
The sequence closes with Between Two Lights, an image of a tree carrying mistletoe in its branches. Growing in the air yet dependent on the tree that holds it, the plant appears in a light that could belong equally to dawn or dusk. Whether it marks a beginning or an ending remains unresolved.
Rather than describing a linear journey, the five works inhabit different moments of transition, inviting reflection on what it means to move through change without knowing what lies ahead.
